((YES!))
"Oh yeah, one person who thinks your ok, you're probably just sorry for this stupid geek!" the leader spat.
"This so called geek has more knowledge and common sense floating around in her back pocket than you ever will! You insolent ninnies probably can't even comprehend a 12th of what she's saying in class, all you are is just a jealous freak looking for some one to pick on so all your snooty, dressed up, bubble brains won't see you for the poor miscreants you really are!! And I would suggest that if you don't want the 12 bottles of nail polish, I'm sure you have in the horribly sparkly bag of yours, stuffed up your nostrils, that you get your skanky little butt outta here!!" Echo shot in complete and utter rage.
"YEAH! well... YEAH!!" One of them sputtered, but they still continued to stand there like nincompoops.
"oh, what that to hard for you to understand?" Echo asked being sarcastically sweet. She then took a threatening step toward them.
"You're stupid, she's better then you, SCRAM or you will feel a great deal of pain!" Echo snarled inching closer and closer with every word. The leader hesitated or moment pondering what she should do. She looked at Echo, looked at her purse, looked back, and ran. Echo gave a triumphant snort of laughter and then to the ever so frightened Birdy.
"Th-th- thanks Echo... That, that was amazing! I don't know how you can stand up to jerks like that! Really thanks!" Birdy said with a great look of relief in her eyes.
"No problem. It's really not that hard to do, just stick with me kid, you'll be a bully breaker in no time!" Echo said over dramatically waving her hands in the air.
"Excuse, but I am no child, I happen to be older than you." Birdy stated matter of factly while straitening up.
"sure, sure..." Echo said with a mischievous grin.

Snicker walked into the scene as the heard of popular girls fled to their lockers. She looked at Echo with a confused look. Echo just grinned and winked at her. Snicker sighed and approached her peers. "You're crazy!" Snicker exclaimed, "Don't you know how tight those girls are with the principal? Your dead meat! I don't want a dead best friend, what good are they?!" Snicker sputtered as she began to shiver and quake. Echo just slouched cooly in the middle of the hall. "Relax, they know if they told the principal they'd get another whooping from me!" Echo said this contently and shot a grin full of pride. The speakers of the school hallway crackled as the scratchy voice of the assistant principal boomed through them, "Lucille Quinlan, please report to the principal's office. I repeat, Lucille Quinlan." Echo's face grew hot as Birdy gave her a sympathetic look. "What do I do?!" Echo exclaimed frantically. "Just tell the truth, you were just defending me!" Birdy encouraged trying to calm her friend down. "It'll be ok!" Birdy called as Echo shuffled down the halls to the office. Snicker's eye were wide as she choked back tears. "Why are you crying?" Birdy questioned. "Seeing other people sad makes me cry, ok?!" Snicker whimpered as she ran off to her locker. -- Echo sat on a bench outside the principal's door, fidgeting around her chair nervously. She held back tears. She was innocent! Innocent! Simply defending a friend. She was shortly accompanied by the somewhat familiar face of Spot Conlon, who, too, was in trouble. He gave a nod to her and collapsed onto the bench beside her. Echo felt even more uncomfortable and stared hard at the ugly 70's carpet that covered the office floor. The sound of keyboards and phones ringing filled the empty silence. Spot slouched back on the bench then opened his mouth to speak. "So, whaddaya in for?" He said sarcastically with a smirk. Echo giggled. She so rarely did. "Popular girls." Echo summed up her experience. Spot chuckled and Echo's ruddy face was hidden in her bangs. "What about you?" She asked him without looking up. "Too many tardys." he said in a mocking female teacher's voice. Echo giggled, once more. "Lucille, my office please." A deep voice called from behind the cold, dark door of the principal's office. As she got up, Spot winked to her and mouthed "Good Luck". Echo's face brightened as a weight was lifted from her shoulders. Who cares what the principal has to say now!

"This is a warning for you Lucille, but if it ever happens again..." The principal trailed off but glared at her sternly. Echo began to imagine what she would get in trouble for next, because of course she knew it what happen again. She then glanced at Spot who was on his way into the office, and wondered if maybe they would get in trouble together... She hoped they would!! Echo then thought about that last thought and how stupid it seemed, but if she was going to get in trouble she prayed it would be with him.
----------------------
"What happened?!!" Snicker asked her friend frantically.
"I just got a warning, no big deal. and..." Echo thought back to Spot, she hated getting so bubbly just over some short little conversation with a boy, that probably didn't matter one bit, but she just couldn't help herself!! She decided that it wasn't an important topic of conversation.
"and what?!" Birdy asked starting to get a little excited.
"never mind, it's nothing. So did you see what's for lunch today, yuk!!" Echo said changing the subject. But even getting deep into the topic of lunch food, her mind was still locked on the boy with the clever smirk and ice blue eyes.

Snicker munched down her turkey sandwich quickly then reached for her juice-box. She gagged as the bitter taste hit her tongue. Gross! Not that disgusting Swiss chocolate milk garbage again. She hated how she couldn't read the label. It wasn't in English. She could not tolerate such a disgusting beverage and simply tossed it into the trash can at the end of the table, where she sat. Echo's gaze never left the floor, she was afraid if she looked up, Spot would be looking at her or waving. Or worse, TALKING to her! She poked her spoon around in her pudding cup. She was too confused to eat. Spot was everywhere. His name, his voice, himself. Echo shook her head as she stood up to toss her un-touched lunch. "Soo..." Birdy said awkwardly as she set down her slice of pizza. "Yep." Echo mumbled rubbing her neck. Snicker did not contribute to the conversation. "Why are we all so quiet?!" Squeakers exclaimed slamming her milk carton onto the table splashing it's continents everywhere. The three shrugged. Why weren't they talking? ((Ok, we all know how Echo and Spot and Birdy/Blink are gonna hook up. But does anyone have an idea for me? ))

((I don't really know. You could bring the "acquaintance" from 1899 into modern, but that's your choice.))

((Yeah... that was cute, huh? Birdy, I'm not even using my acquaintance in 1899. He's only for modern anyhow and he wont come until the whole dating thing starts to get old for all of us. ))

((Okay, I didn't really know.))
The silence at the lunch table was obviously being caused by the silent obsessions going on in Echo and Birdy's minds over their crushes, but who wants to admit to that? "I just...don't feel like talking today. Plus, what's so bad about quiet?" Birdy said placidly. Echo nodded. Besides, she'd rather just think about Spot, the mysterious bad boy. Birdy looked up from her mediocre lunch to see the pack of pretties walking toward them. Only, this time, their heavily lined eyes were fixed on Echo. "Echo," Birdy whispered, "The plastics are coming for you." Echo raised an eyebrow skeptically, and turned around. At the sight of the catty clique, she made a small growl in her throat, and stood up with her hands balled in fists at her sides. The most threatening death stare in the history of high school was shooting from her dark brown eyes. The rest of the girls saw the confidence drain out of the approaching girls' faces. With that, they began to back away and finally scampered away on their spiked heels. Their table busted out laughing and gave Echo high-fives all around.

"That was pretty impressive" came a voice from behind Echo.
"Thanks, when it's someone like that it's really not that hard" Echo said, and then she turned around. darned! no, that's it! I'll just talk to him like any other guy, he's just a person, yeah! Echo thought to herself
"yeah that can make it easier" Spot said with a soft chuckle. Oh who am I kidding!! Echo's head yelled at her, that laugh made her lips quiver.
"Ya know, I like you Echo. Meet me at my locker after school, number 112. See ya" Spot told her a smirk and a pat on the shoulder. EEEEEKKKKK!!!! Echo screamed to herself. The whole table looked at her expecting to hear an audible squeal of joy but didn't hear anything. Echo watched spot leave, squeezed her eyes shut, and shoved her hand in her mouth until she could contain her joy. dang... her hand was bleeding now. ((it's like what I do when i'm trying to shut up, i just bite my hand, just in case you didn't understand that little bit there!))

-- Snicker climbed into the car after school that day, right after Racetrack who jumped when a fluffy white cat pounced onto his lap as soon as he settled into his seat. "This is yours." He groaned as he held the cat out to Snicker. "FOOFIE!!!" She squealed as she snatched her purring cat. She hugged that cat tightly, though it didn't seem to mind much. "You're so retarded." Racetrack moaned as he pulled out an iPhone from his back pocket. "First of all, you sound un-educated when you say 'retarded'. Second of all, I AM SO NOT!" Snicker hissed as she set the cat down onto her lap. Racetrack rolled his eyes at her. "What?!" She exclaimed. --10 minutes later-- Racetrack dropped his phone as he let out a yelp of pain. "What is it?" Snicker asked worried. "My arm, it just hurt for a second." Racetrack said puzzled as he pulled up the sleeve of his shirt to inspect the source of the pain. His eyes grew wide at the sight of a large black bruise on his left arm. "Thats funny..." Snicker trailed off as she lifted the sleeve of her coat to reveal a very similar bruise in the exact same spot as Race's. "TWIN TELEPATHY!" Racetrack exclaimed excitedly as Angela just rolled her eyes. "Race, I told you, what ever that magazine article told you is totally garbage." "No! This is proof! I'm tellin' ya! It's real!" "Yeah, yeah." Snicker sassed stuffing earphones into her ears to drown out the obnoxious noise of 5 minute older brothers trying to prove a ridiculous point.

Birdy climbed into her dad's truck and closed the door. "How was your day, Eliza?" he asked her in a loud voice. "Pretty good," she answered in an undiscernable voice. "No tests or anything?" "Nope." Only a test of how well I can tolerate stupid popular girls, Birdy thought angrily as she looked out the passenger window. Her dad eventually stopped at an intersection and Birdy glanced at the street corner. The person standing there took her by so much surprise she almost yelped. It was Blink. She stared at him intensely, her mouth slightly open in a shocked state. And then, horror of horrors, he turned his head toward the car and saw her face in the window. A grin crossed his face. A blush crossed Birdy's. But then the truck jerked forward, and Blink was gone from her sight. Birdy sat in her seat with her heart beating and mind racing.

------Saturday afternoon-------
"What kind of ice cream is this again, Helen?" Echo asked, looking curiously at a bowl full of very brightly colored ice cream.
"fruity bananza." Helen answered simply, licking at her plain vanilla cone.
"Awesome... do we have sprinkles?" Echo asked while cocking her brow.
"Yeah, but you're not going to get any!" Helen snorted.
"Why!! I just think it'll look cooler with some sprinkles!!" Echo retorted.
"Lucy! It already looks like someone puked up a rainbow! you don't need any more sugar anyway." Helen said chuckling lightly.
"Fine..." Echo huffed, rolling her eyes.
((ok, so this post was really uber pointless, but I didn't really know what to write and this was the first thing that came to mind.))

Snicker peered around the corner into the living room where Racetrack sat with Spot Conlon and Jack Kelly around the exceedingly large entertainment center where both siblings often held their sleepover parties. The sun was falling low in the sky and the boys had been sitting their for hours on end and weren't leaving until morning. Racetrack was holding a sleepover and as usual, Snicker was spying on the guests. It was like a game they played with one another, only the other didn't know one was watching them. They always spied on each other. Sometimes when they were little, they'd spy on each other spying on the other. Snicker was on a mission. She didn't tell, but she knew Echo liked Spot. But she knew if she asked Echo it would either be laughed off or Snicker would get a bruise. "Soooo, Spot." Jack said casually leaning back on the floor. They were watching some cheesy action movie that neither of them were paying attention to. "Yeah?" "Whats da deal wid you and dat short goil?" Jack asked. Racetrack cocked an eyebrow. "Echo?" Race chimed before Spot could say anything. "Yea," Jack nodded, "her." Spot shook his head. "What about her?" He asked impatiently. "Well..." Jack struggled for words. "Do you LIKE her?" Racetrack asked. "Yea, nice goil." Jack laughed. "Not what he means. Do you LIKE like Echo?" Spot glared at the two of them. "WHAT?" He roared. "NO WAY!" The boys shrugged and dropped the conversation. Snicker shook her head in the shadows. "Boys can drop a topic so quickly." She whispered.

Birdy sat in her favorite chair, a green suede recliner, with her laptop resting on her thighs as she bounced around the Internet. Coldplay came softly through the speakers. A familiar ding resounded, and Birdy opened up her email. A message from Snicker was in the chat window. I've been doing some spying, and I've got a little news, Birdy read. Spill, Birdy replied. Okay, well, we all know Echo likes Spot, right? OF COURSE! Birdy typed back. He was talking to Jack and Race, and he was in total denial that he liked Echo back Snicker's message read. Birdy winced. She knew Echo well enough to know that she'd be crushed by this, but would never admit to it. Well, that's not good , she typed. But maybe he likes her too, but he just doesn't want to fess up, just like Echo! Snicker replied enthusiastically. We'll just have to see, I guess Birdy typed. Suddenly, another ding rang out of the computer. It was Echo! Birdy quickly closed her chat with Snicker and signed in to group chat. Snicker and Birdy didn't type a word about Snicker's little eavesdropping session.
